Hello, Friends, and welcome to the Blog today. I’m excited to share with you a Valentine’s craft project with items purchased from the Thrift Store. I’m going to use the finished product as a centerpiece for my Valentine’s table this year. Come with me as I show you exactly how I put this together.
In this picture you can see the topiary form that I found at the Thrift Store. I’ve already added the ivy vines at the base of the form. I love how the ivy drapes over the edges and softens the rigid outlines. The ivy came from the Thrift Store for very little money and I use it in arrangements all the time.
The other things I used are pictured above. I needed some wire cutters for the flowers and hearts and the flowers and hearts, themselves and finally the ivy. The flowers and hearts came from the Thrift Store so I just cut them down and used them for the upper part of the topiary.
With the ivy in place I cut individual flower stems to about a 1 and 1/2″ length and then began to place them in the upper part of the topiary. I cut leaves from the original flower stems and inserted them at intervals around the topiary ball. They were quite easy to push in.
I used a variety of pinks to create the flower ball and interspersed the flowers with hearts in red and pink. I continued to add leaves to the arrangement.
I kept adding elements until the ball was filled and I ran out of flowers. LOL. I had just enough to finish the arrangement.
It looks so sweet on the little heart table runner that I also found at the Thrift Store. The bottom looked a little bare to me so I added one more element.
I added a few fabric roses and silver ribbons that I made last year. They filled in the bottom and added another touch of Valentine’s Day to the piece.
I was very happy with the finished product. What do you think? Thanks for joining me today as we created a Valentine’s Day topiary from some Thrift Store finds.
That is so petty!
Thanks, Joanne, it was a fun project. Have a wonderful week.

That is amazing you would find this topiary form at a thrift store. I suppose someone had planned something and then gave up! Your finished project is wonderful and will be so cheerful come Valentine’s Day! That’s one holiday I don’t have much for…oh, an excuse to do some crafting!
Have a warm and wonderful weekend, Lynne!

A very interesting object to find while thrifting. My creativity is a bit limited in this area and I probably would have passed on it, lol. You did a great job, though!
thanks, robin, it was my first try at something like that. I love that you never know what you’re going to find when you go Thrift Store shopping. Thanks for sharing.

Stopping by from the Inspire Me Monday link party. I love this idea. I actually decorate two of my Christmas trees for Valentine’s Day but this would be a nice addition to my decor.
It was an easy project, Lisa, and lots of fun without being to involved. Would love to see your trees. thanks for visiting and sharing.

I really like this idea. I have used a round foam ball to make kissing balls before but now I am inspired to make a topiary instead for Valentine’s. Thanks for sharing and this pot will be a feature this week. #HomeMattersParty
Thanks, Donna, it’s exciting to be featured. Haven’t tried kissing balls so maybe I’ll Gove that a go. Thanks for the idea. Really enjoy your site.
